PE Firm Phone Interview / Screening?
Hi, I recently had a phone interview / screening with a back office / operations director at a large PE firm. He contacted me for a phone call 1 month after I initially sent my resume. He said they were in the process of having initial phone calls with candidates they selected. My phone call lasted about 20 minutes and consisted entirely of a discussion about my background (3 years in PE), deals done and industries focused on. My question was whether this was really an official interview or just a screening prior to in-person interviews? He said he would forward my information to the deal team and they would be in touch, but I haven't heard anything for 4 days. Does this likely mean I'm out as a candidate or should I follow up with him immediately to find out what's going on? Thanks for any helfpul feedback.
