Presidents can use internet to do things for us
It's Saturday and I found an interesting read. This article explains President Obama's use of military technology: drones, cyber operations, and special forces. All of which are obviously heavily technology enabled and depend upon use of the Internet. Looking at this wholly, we, as a country, are engaged in war but don't feel that way.
Then I got to thinking I what ways have things been occurring without our knowledge? I realize that one of the hallmarks of the ACA when it was first passed. It's exchanges are supposed to make judgement and understanding insurance easier by requiring simple and clear publication of policies online.
This article was written to argue against unilaterally authorized military force, that the Congress enables this behavior with their inaction, and that the American public has no idea this is happening, all while the surge of ISIS has been pared back through reclaiming key cities and territories. Obamacare has many flaws and hurts business in many ways but it did get millions more insured, the millions not sophisticated enough to know their options have, in idea, a place to find this information. Remember too that freedom of speech has been twisted to mean freedom from being spoken negatively about, given that everything can be recorded and instantly judged by the public.
Is Obama the first president to effectively use the internet? He's taking action where others failures end to begin picking up the mess out there.
