Public sector non-finance internship.
I have received an offer in the public sector,(think state legislature, senate, congressional) as an intern after trying with no luck to get a finance gig. I am still trying but have to accept/decline this offer in a week or so. I would ideally like to get into trading and was thinking I could use the lower work load (relative to IB) to take some online options & trading courses and manage my newly opened account. Also I may be able to get some finance exposure during the internship through research.
I am just looking to get a little feedback on my situation and if it will have a positive/negative/neutral affect on my chances at breaking into trading or finance down the road.

Its going to be neutral. I
Its going to be neutral. I mean it wont help but it cant hurt. Only do that if that is the ONLY option you have. Its better than nothing.
So far it is the only option.
So far it is the only option. I know it is kind of early still for some boutiques and I am still trying in that area. I am trying to look at the upside being that I could take an accounting course (something I have been told by recruiters I need) and try to bump up my trading skills while interning . I know it is not as good as legit finance experience but seems interesting nonetheless.
