Graduates are likely to assume a position in brand management, marketing consulting, marketing research/analytics, or business development.

The MS (Marketing) program builds on Purdue's outstanding reputation in Marketing. The MBA in Marketing program at Purdue University's Krannert Graduate School of Business is ranked #5 MBA-Marketing Program in North America (Best-Masters).

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

Specialized Marketing Education

Purdue’s MS (Marketing) program provides students with the breadth and depth of knowledge and skills needed for a career in marketing.

Tailored Curriculum

Various elective courses, consulting projects, and small group immersion courses provide students many opportunities to tailor the program to their career plans.

Consulting Projects

“Learning-by-doing” activities such as consulting projects allow students to apply concepts that they are learning in the classroom to real-world problems. Active-learning projects supervised by Purdue faculty members help students turn expertise into experience and classroom knowledge into career success.

Immersion Courses

Elective courses provide an in-depth knowledge around a focused topic. Immersion courses allow a small group of students to work closely with a Krannert faculty member and an industry expert to solve a current marketing problem.

Career Mentorship

Each student is matched with a Corporate Mentor from Purdue's Marketing Advisory Board. These marketing professionals provide career and professional advice throughout the program.

Marketing Forums

Opportunities to network with Krannert alumni and meet various business leaders and entrepreneurs.

WHO SHOULD APPLY?

To the extent marketing is both an art and a science, the program is a good fit for a variety of backgrounds, such as social sciences, health and human sciences, engineering, computer science, statistics, business, and communications. The target class size is 20 to 25 students. Preference for admission will be given to those applicants who will benefit most from the program and who will add to the learning experience of other students in the program.

its marketing. This discipline isn't known for getting hired.

That's not really true. Just hired into different facets of business (i.e. nothing finance related). It's a not bad choice if someone wants to do brand management, marketing analytics, sales. There are quite a few people in a marketing role making more than a person in a finance role.
