reactions to the drop?
Hey all,
Hope you don't mind a reporter using this list for a query. My name's Matt Quirk and I'm with the Atlantic Monthly. It's a little dark, but I had a cabbie tell me that reporters are hanging outside the banks, waiting for people to jump off the top of the buildings. Obviously that's a little over-the-top, but it got me wondering how the popular perception of what a crash is like on Wall Street and at the banks compares with what's actually going on.
Are firms keeping their eyes out for people who are getting a little freaked out by the price drops? Are buildings managers actually locking up the roof access? I was wondering, basically, if all hell is breaking loose or if all is relatively calm.
Any and all anecdotes or insights would be much appreciated. And I won't go quoting anybody without checking. Really just trying to get a sense of things.
Thanks,
MQ
I thought that most buildings seal their windows these days. I don't think anyone at a bank has enough suicidal gumption to smash open a window, just to jump out of it. Not entrepreneurial enough!
Just kidding. I think the fact someone is asking about it is a sign of the times...scary stuff indeed.
Looks like there will be more jumping tomorrow. Nikkei is down near 11%. holy smokes.
ur a piece of shit
