I have a question. If after a first round interview, the recruiter says she will get back to you either way with a decision within the week and then 2 weeks go by and you still hear nothing, does that mean you were dinged? I emailed a recruiter at a BB asking my status and she said they were still going through the candidates and deciding

Banks definitely contact you regardless whether you get it or no.. so if you haven't heard anything.. most likely you are still in the game..
Most of time its more like they are waiting to hear back from the Top candidates first.. and you might be one of the alternate..
Don't stress over it too much... think the worst.. hope for the best

thank you for the response, I agree with you on that one. but if they tell me a superday is on tuesday, than shouldnt i hear back at latest today, to give me time to book a flight?
story of my life... at some point one starts to wonder if HR feels bad for being so rude as to not return emails--even if it's just a "email received. we cannot give out any information at this time." how frustrating
I had an interview at a MM last semester. They followed up a few days after the Super Day and said that they were still deciding because all the candidates were great. Never heard back from them. No rejection, just... nothing. Actually, I receive emails from them time to time about deals they complete haha
(Maybe Im an alternate... for 3 and a half months haha)
So I guess it all depends on the firm
I've heard of people never hearing back from interviews, even after leaving a number of emails and messages... No reply, from anyone, regarding anything.
