From what I have seen the work and exit opps are very similar. Largest difference would be that working in a regional office generally involves more travel (e.g., ACs at Bain in Boston or NY travel far less than ACs in other offices).
Just out of curiosity, what do you think constitutes a "regional", not-large office? LA? Houston? But smuguy is right, other than the travel you have pretty much the exact same everything else.
