I'm always seeing this guys sponsored posts or livestreams on LinkedIn. He never gives real info all he does is scare kids by telling them "recruiting is almost over" or "You're behind". He also defends this by saying he doesn't target people who are well-set for IB rather the people who go to non-targets or have some sort of GPA issue, but like I know plenty of kids who just networked hard, had good personalities and all landed IB positions. You seriously don't need to be a genius to be an IB analyst. But anyways if this thread blows up Sammy will be here and then also bring his random students to defend him - can't wait to come back to this.

This guy is a complete and utter joke. I feel bad for kids spending 5-7k on stuff that can be found online for free. I’m happy that he’s finally getting called out. This is nothing but exploitation.

Guy is the biggest scammer there is. All he does is LinkedIn message unsuspecting college kids and tries to scare the shit out of them so that they pay for his retardedly stupid and wasteful course.

He has a WSO account so he'll probably show up with like 7 other burner accounts shortly. If I recall there was another thread about him maybe last year where he appeared and tried to defend himself

I actually recently did one of the “free sessions” he offers to new prospective clients and one things the person on the call did was ask me to rank myself on a scale from 1-10 for how well I thought I knew my behavioral/technical questions. I see myself as pretty self aware so I felt I was able to accurately rank myself. The person then proceeded to ask me a few technical and behavioral questions to “gauge my knowledge” as well as some questions about the progress I’ve made with networking. Let’s just say I haven’t been contacted by them since. Maybe I was already too established in my knowledge of what it takes to break in so I wasn’t a target for them but regardless this was a red flag to me and I have to agree with everyone here. Total scam. The whole meeting reeked of sloppy sales tactics.

I was reached out by them. Seemed like a complete scam. The founder basically told me he had calls with potential clients for a full 12 hours that day and couldn't spend more than 5 min with me on the phone. If all they're doing is calling incoming analysts to solicit business: 1) they definitely don't have an established set of clients 2) don't take care of existing clients.

Could not agree more with the assessment of WSMM as a scam. Despite not having purchased the program, by doing their free call their pressure sales tactics and unnecessarily manipulative commentary spoke to the shadiness of their entire business model. They  aimed to convey that success was not possible without their help, and they sought to make you feel helpless and dejected coming out of the meeting. And the price they charge for the course is outrageous and simply justified by “a career where you can make millions” and the desperation many feel to act and make progress in recruitment. One example of his tactics is to make offers of “free bonuses worth $6k if you join within the next 48 hours” but the whole course isn’t even worth close to that, especially when you can easily do it on your own with BIWS and a good personality. I was able to get offers and secure a spot at an EB despite their commentary and I hope they finally get what’s coming to them for this. It truly is a manipulation of students’ desperation and lack of familiarity with the IB world. Anyone in IB will tell you a 90% success rate is simply not possible. The field is quite competitive and most will fail due to lack of preparation (not spending enough time truly learning BIWS) or cultural fit (are you somebody people want to work with/be around). By redefining a “success” I suppose 90% could be possible (calling a spot at any regional/boutique or tangentially connected shop a success), but to make claims like that when people assume that means BB/EB placement is flat out misleading. This misleading number is pushed by claims of entry by clients into top banks, so they don’t seem to mention MM or regional entries at all. In truth, Sam seems like the last person who should be teaching this course. Firstly, he is not even in the same time zone as he isn’t in the US. Secondly, he isn’t even the one who hops on the call with you, it’s one of his goons. Lastly, he only has had a couple of years of experience in IB, and it was over a decade ago. He’s not accomplished in the field and from what I gather from OP’s comment, he isn’t invested in your success. I couldn’t think of a worse way to spend that kind of money. Hope this helps for those on the fence for his program. DON’T BUY IT. You can do it yourself.

I actually think being at a MM bank has quite a few advantages over BB/EB and I have friends at many, but my point is that Sam Shiah is very deceptive and misleading in his content and program. Much respect for anyone who makes it into IB though!

You've seen Sam Shiah's ads on YouTube. You spend $6.8k for some technical guides and interview prep. You've now officially paid the most money in recorded history in order to work 80+ hours a week. You paid money to work 80+ hours a week.

Twisting your mind and smashing your dreams

Have a friend who did an initial call with Sam. Was told that he tries to scare you into joining the program by tearing your resume apart and telling you ur never gonna make it. Most of his clients seem to join up after not getting a SA at one of the banks that recruit early -- HL Rx, Citi, RBC -- hence why the scare tactics work.

He told my friend that his resume ain't gonna get him anywhere and the only fix is joining his program. My friend eventually decided to go solo and ended up with an offer from a top BB

I'm sure some of his students do get IB offers -- but c'mon you really shouldn't have to pay someone to help land a SA. I'd imagine most of the things he helps you with are readily available on WSO anyways... Just focus on networking. Feel bad for the people who got screwed over.

Ya the dude seems like a major scammer. The only thing that I don't get about this guy is that he actually had a pretty impressive career before starting WSMM. I looked at his LinkedIn and he's had some roles at top IB/PE and tech startup places. Why would he leave a high-paying career like that just to become a scam artist/fake IB guru on the internet? It makes no sense to me tbh.

This vid made me think of his scammy business lol. His business model essentially is like any MLM scheme:

and/or doxxed him. I know you’re here Sam. I know you threw MS at this. You’re exploiting kids by way intimidating and scaring them, then overcharging for the value you provide. That’s not ethical dude.

Jesus Christ this man almost got doxxed lmfaoooo Sam is a piece of shit and I know he's probably checking this thread hourly because he's so salty

You know that you are a piece of shit when you doxx and threaten people just to keep your business afloat. Guess what Sam? We know you, and every time someone asks about Wall Street Mastermind, we'll know what to tell them ;)) xoxo

HAHAHHA NOT SAM PAYING OFF THE DUDE THAT POSTED THIS ORIGINALLY / DOXXING HIM or THREATENING HIM. Sam is such an L fr lmao ahahhahah no wonder he's a failure who has to resort to shit like this. BTW if anyone is seeing this, OP originally wrote about how much he hates Sam/WSMM and it's a scam, and the post was shadily updated to positive news. Sam Shiah is a CUCK

As a student doing research online and watching videos on youtube about IB, I see that dudes face every time. However, even as a high schooler, I was able to tell that he was full of shit when he started talking about 90% success rate. Also his hair style looks like he picked up my pubes from the bathroom floor and stuck them on his head with Elmer's glue.

Wow. This reads like something out of a twilight zone episode. Three days ago this post was a rant completely destroying the WSMM program and Sam Shiah name, and now it’s a glowing review of how great the program is and how everything was the OPs fault.  Complete *180 degree turn* in every single way. I wish someone had saved the original post or could access it via cache because I want a historical record of what happened here.

A case for defamation is only possible if the person knowingly makes false statements. Saying bad things about someone's business is not illegal if the statements were 1) true, or 2) thought to be true.

The standard is higher if the victim of defamation is a public figure, which Sam would be qualified. In this case, the person who made the defamatory statements would have to have made them with the intent to harm the victim.

Therefore Sam threatening legal action has no weight unless OP knowingly and willfully made false statements with the intent of harming WSMM.
