Science and Finance?
I would like to consider myself a scientist...or someone who's very interested in science, specifically biotechnology. How can one best merge such interests with the world of finance? Is consulting the best option, or is it possible in IBanking? Any advice?
First of all, consulting is NOT finance. Consulting is very gay, and that is all you really need to know about that.
To answer your question, I would say that the coolest way to merge such interests would be VC, of course. VC is ridiculously hard to break into, though, so don't get your hopes up.

ignoring the "S&T is BS and investors are retarded" rant that mark klein will probably issue after reading this... you may want to look into investment firms that invest in the biotech sector.
hi neutralnuke,
I imagine you don't evoke VC so can you detail more precisely about investment firms ?
or sell-side research in the healthcare sector.
oops, sorry, if that means nothing to you. what i meant was equity research for an investment bank covering healthcare companies.
hey bioman, I'm no expert in this field but was thinking of HFs that invest in healthcare. I can't think of any right off the bat but this article seems relevant, although a bit outdated: http://news.efinancialcareers.com/NEWS_ITEM/newsItemId-6878
