SEARS Bankrupt?
Hi Everyone,
How long do you see Sears being a viable entity? When evaluating their PPE you can see Edward Lampert is selling portions of the company to mask the issues not maintaining long term profitability.
I thought to myself maybe Lampert is selling certain assets to help push the stock down and improve the possibility of allowing a buyout and make it private. But he made some serious errors during his initial ownership of the company by scaling back the store features which people started to notice and go elsewhere.
Edward Lampert in the past few years has spent a lot more on store features which has increased foot traffic but not enough in my eyes to keep it a sustainable entity.
Can someone please shed some light on this issue? Where do you see Sears in the next year or two? Thanks in advance!

Also I have been reading over
Also I have been reading over their 10K and been trying to figure out which metrics would be the best in the evaluation of how long it can sustain itself. Here it is: http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1310067/000...
The only problem with
The only problem with shorting SHLD is the fact that Eddie can keep propping it up for a while, so holding the short long enough to see it fall could be tough for a lot of people. Sears is a 0. That much I can assure you. Just a question of how long Eddie wants to keep this charade going. Hope he's having fun in Miami.
