SEO U invitation?

This afternoon I received an email informing me about a program called "SEO U". I applied to, and was denied, to the SEO career program this year. I am a 2010 graduate and was wondering if this was a new type of deal or if this was somewhat of a feeder program for next year? I ran a search and didn't find anything. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, it's a new program. If you didnt get SEO this summer, SEO-U is suppose to give you tools to apply and next week and to help you prepare for next year.

Sounds like a pretty interesting idea. Is it weird that I did not even receive a phone interview this year and was sent an email about this?

supposedly it's to find the better candidates, and they give several opportunities of networking w/ the admin staff. now even if the whole zoologic thing is nice and cool, they apparently will only check that you have done some, but they don't really care. i brought this up several times while at one of their events and they're just like "dude, whatever... don't worry about that." in terms of learning, those zoologic things aren't particularly useful, although they do help you get your fundamentals right

i would do it anyway cuz it can't hurt... if you're in NY for the summer, you should do your best to go to their networking events, since they love the attention
