I know this is a stupid question, so I don't expect many responses, but is it ok for bankers to have sideburns? My friend claims that bankers should not and if I have them it may make me look bad in the interview? I like my sideburns and don't think they look bad. Thoughts?

I've had sideburns ever
I've had sideburns ever since I grew them. They've always been trimmed and shaped neatly at the barber, and people tell me they look good. However, I also heard that having facial hair is looked down upon in banking, unless it's a religious thing (or you're Jim Cramer.. ;P), so I shaved it all off.
I don't work in banking, but I did it so that I can get used to seeing myself without it. I must say that having a cleanly shaven face looks a lot better and more professional than having sideburns that make you look like you should be on a video on BET. lol.
If you really like them, then you should do as yury said and shave them for the interviews and grow it a few weeks into the job. The only thing is that I can see it probably backfiring if you aren't chosen to have face time with clients because of your "unprofessional" look. Not saying that it'll definately happen, but maybe.
(Then you are slowly pushed into the basement, and have your stapler stolen.. "that'll be greeaaatt, ok?" .. lol.. j/k)

Do you think you will make a better impression keeping them? If not, shave them to be safe... they won't make a better impression.
