Sophomore summer - need help spinning market research internship
Hi all,
I'm a rising junior, international student at a semi-target, Math major with 3.8+ GPA (3.9+ major GPA)
I'm doing a market research internship this summer for a midsized company. I take this job because it is close to my campus, so I can take an Econ Research Assistant position on the side to supplement income. (I'm an international student so I'm not authorized to work off-campus, unless the job is an internship)
Unfortunately, I have been doing mostly administrative/ random research/ communication work. However, my boss told me that he would let me work on what I want, if I come up with something to do.
I'm more interested in consulting, but I like investment banking as well. So now I have a couple of questions:
1) What kind of project should I ask to do that looks good for consulting/banking?
2) I did an IB internship in my home country my freshman summer, but decided not to come back for financial reason (airplane is too expensive). How can I spin my sophomore summer experiences to still convey my interest in IB?
Thank you so much!
