If you don't get into an Ibank for a summer internship will that bank not grant you a first round interview for a full time position? So if Citi rejected you in the 1st round will you not even get a 1st round interview with them for full time?

definitely not....if your resume is better next year, your chances will be better.....also summer analyst spots are more competitive than fulltime spots

They can take more chances on a 10 week commitment, knowing they can always fill full time if things don't work out. Plus there are more spots in the intern class.
getting a summer internship definitely helps, but many new analysts never had one (like myself)
spots for summers are less and you have the same application volume..duh..
