Switching careers

Guys.. I am currently working as medic in London, As I graduated from so called "overseas" university I struggle to get on the training ladder (not that I think you would be interested in this story) Anyways I am considering career change and looking into IB. What are your opinions on this? Any ex medics out there wanting to share their view?
