Testing the waters with offers?
So, those students who did their SA gig most likely are either ending or just ended. At my firm, we don't hear back regarding offers for at least 2 weeks if not longer (we were told we'd know before school began). I can confirm that at other firms are not all like this but it is not uncommon.
My question: let's say you liked your firm and your group but want to spread your net far and wide just in case there's a head-count issue or you simply didn't do as well as you thought. Does it look bad to begin reaching out to recruiters at other firms about their full time recruiting before you've heard back? Could such get back to your firm, the one you're waiting on, and potentially hurt you (wall street is a small place)?
