Interesting topic so I'll chime in -- what I think most people miss (and what you're alluding to in your post) is that they don't really think too in-depth. Here is what I mean: do you ever think differently?

I have some experience in this area so I wanted to give a little advice. Young monkeys, some tips so you don't make the same mistakes I see others routinely make:

  • Don't think about it. It's only going to send you into a negative feedback loop.
  • If others are talking about it, why not try and think about it your way?
  • If you can think it, you can dream it.

Hope this helps. Wish I would've gotten the advice sooner in my career. Great post OP, curious to see others' experiences.

  • If you can think it, you can dream it.

I think you're missing something here. Typically it goes "if you can believe it, you can achieve it." Dreaming about something doesn't get you very far in reality.

"If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them." - Bruce Lee

You have never heard of Viktor Frankl?

"If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them." - Bruce Lee

This is one of the greatest quotes of all time and inspired Steven Covey to write about it in his book. Viktor Frankl is a legendary psychiatrist/psychologist who wrote Man's Search for Meaning.

"If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them." - Bruce Lee

Viktor Frankl was a pseudointellectual hack par excellence. "Oh yeah, lemme take a few ideas of C.G. Jung, Joseph Campbell, et al out of context, rip off Neet-Chan a bit, and then spice it up with Holocaust eschatology, just because people are into that right now and it sells like hot cakes."

You might as well take "Think and Grow Rich" as a profound work.

No sense in living in the past. King, take it from a drunk king going to sleep with a girl he loves, don’t hit her up. You’re better than that and find someone who loves you.
