Trading & Sales

So on the 1st of the Month I receive an email from Wallstreetoasis offering a trading position only to later suspect it’s a chop shop. What really threw me off was the fact no degree was needed for prospective traders. They are Affinity Trading Group. Anyone heard of them? //www.wallstreetoasis.com/jobs/equity-trader-day-tr… Perhaps some of the monkeys here working in trading, sales, preferably flow trading can shed some light on it? I wouldn’t call myself a trader as frankly the only time I traded heavily (over 300k) was on the 9th March 2009 buying C after it dipped below $1 and others like FITB, BAC, BBI, the now folded DXO, BKUNA etc. Is it worth using my personal portfolio I trade through Interactive Brokerage in finding a prospective job? Aside from that, I did have a six month stunt as a sales person in bringing high net clientele to E*TRADE Financials Dubai when on their opening. A boring and useless job, nevertheless gave me the liquidity freedom and liking for finance. Was busy working on BPO personal business of mine since and now that I feel the business can run on its own, I thought its time to get to Finance. Is 30yrs a little too old to get into finance, in particular FX as I would like to trade 6 months or a year from now or at least be part of sales team. If this is not feasible and realistic, is going the retail way going to harm me given I don´t have sophisticated software, margin and liquidity. Is my unconventional way a little too off for a sales job as I really do believe I can do well selling. How hard is it to get a sales entry job in FX desk? Chances of transitioning from there to flow trading? Was Lloyd Blankfiled bluffing when he said not all of his traders know what they are selling or is this really the case? Will having CFA help (Finished up to level 2 so far)? Does being ethnic & speaking 5 languages (Arabic, English, Hindi, Swahili, Spanish) help? In addition, I am a world traveler as my BPO has offices in Bogota Colombia, Nairobi Kenya & Casablanca Morocco. Monkeys here how you´ll would recommend I go about achieving my eventual goal, being either a FX trader, preferably flow trader or at least a sales person In FX team?. Now more than ever should be a good time for major dealers to venture into developing countries like Colombia, or Egypt. Am I hallucinating folks or do I have a chance here? Let me know. Appreciated.

How hard is it to get a sales entry job in FX desk? For a 30 year old with 6 months experience at e-trade? Yea that's tough. Consider b-school.

Chances of transitioning from there to flow trading? Doable.

Was Lloyd Blankfiled bluffing when he said not all of his traders know what they are selling or is this really the case? You can figure this one out.

Will having CFA help (Finished up to level 2 so far)? Won't hurt

Does being ethnic & speaking 5 languages (Arabic, English, Hindi, Swahili, Spanish) help? You can figure this one out.

Monkeys here how you´ll would recommend I go about achieving my eventual goal, being either a FX trader, preferably flow trader or at least a sales person In FX team? Do you have a track record trading FX? If so leverage that along with whatever network you have.

Am I hallucinating folks or do I have a chance here? A chance, sure
