U of T? Chinese University HK?

This is a wierd comparison, but I'd like to know if you had to choose, would you choose Commerce at University of Toronto or Global Business Studies at Chinese University of Hong Kong? I think U of T degree would be recognized by more places but the program at CUHK is not bad either. It's a 3 year program, with 1 term at University of North Carolina and 1 term at Copenhagen Business School in Denmark. http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/globe/eng/index.htm

Which one should I choose if I want to work in an ibank after graduating? And which one would give me a 'better' college life?

is this for the GLOBE program?

anyways, I would pick CUHK considering they are one of the top business schools in asia and i think around top 50 in the world.

UNC has kenan-flagler, which has a great undergraduate program and CBS is also a great business school, highly ranked in the world.

I would say neither decision would give you a complete edge for ibanking unless you went out of your way to learn mandarin, then obviously, there would be some advantages and greater opportunities abroad.

If you want to do hk, I'd suggest going to hkust rather than cuhk.

Between the two choices above though, I agree with bmw's assessment that CUHK is more highly ranked globally. However, it is very difficult to get a US job with an hk degree, no matter how great the school. So, unless you are planning to do ib in hk, which isn't a bad choice btw, then you may want to consider UT.

If your referring to U of T Commerce (B.Comm), then I would not recommend it. Although its almost like being in Hong Kong (Demographics wise), the program itself lacks and isn't even one of the top in Canada.

I do not know that much about CUHK, so I cannot make a valid comparison between the two. However, I would assume that CUHK is a better program.

*Note: I am a Canadian university student

Why do you think the program lacks?

If you want to do IB in hk, your better off with a top tier degree from CUHK such as their GLOBE program, however, if you have HKUST Global Business, that would be even better.

It lacks for Ibanking. 1/3 (at least) of the grads go to the big 4 every year. More then half of the UT commerce student body is filling out the 51 credits for the CA requirements. I know of a handful of grads that got into IB analyst roles, most of which were boutique. A few got into trading (out of the more elite programs at UofT ie engineering/science) but all in all UT Commerce is an accounting program much like Schulich. If you want Ibanking go to Ivey/McGill/Queens/UCalgary
