Work Visa Woes for International Student
Hi, I'm new to the forum and am excited to post on the forum, having been an active reader for the past year. I left my job recently but still have a valid work Visa. I unfortunately don't have citizenship or permanent residency. I am currently staying in the US as a full-time student concentrating in accounting at a semi-target school in New York.
I've been applying to a handle of full-time positions online and am always prompted whether I have work authorization. Should I answer yes? In the event that I end up getting an interview, when is the most appropriate time to bring up during the conversation?
Im pretty sure you have to say no and reapply when you find a new employer.
Unable to Start SA role because of visa issues (Originally Posted: 06/10/2012)
Hi everyone,
I'm currently a junior at a non-target school on the east coast. I got an SA offer from a BB (MS, JPM, CS) but I won't be able to do the internship b/c of lack of work authorization, so I'll be working at a no-name boutique instead. If anyone could provide some advice on what I could do in regards to preparing for FT recruiting, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.
Marry a white girl. Divorce at your age won't cost more than a pair of sandals and your living room sofa.

Why does she have to white? Surely you mean a U.S citizen. Marrying a blue eyed blonde white Russian girl is not going to help you.
You're absolutely right - I was just trying to convey the point bluntly.
Can you elaborate? You should have been able to get a CPT or an OPT authorization? Who fucked up? Was your college or the bank's HR, or did you start the process too late?
I don't understand...because getting a permit to work in summer is not like getting a work Visa, you are entitled to your 12 months of OPT, and you can use 3 months of that for the summer. Something does not add up.
