Underpaid in front office

safe

keep lookin at the salary ranges and bonuses and what other man get paid in front office jobs..

i'm at a BB..London.. been workin 3 yrs 2 months... associate.. done CFA level 2.. earnin £43k a year.. pretty low aint it?

readin websites and stuff.. i see associate pay like 80k+, almost 130k sometime..

I'm an financial institutions banker

coverage job essentially to client base of insurance/banks/asset mgrs

i only do a subsection of this but still. should give you an idea of what i do..

I think it's a bit misleading to state that you're Front Office and in a coverage team but not say what division you're in. Based on your salary you're clearly not in IBD at your BB, but more likely in Corporate/Commercial Banking - nothing wrong with this and they are still front office roles, but you have to include the division in your post to provide context for your salary.

So assuming you're in Corporate or Commercial Banking, your salary sounds about right. Probably on the low end for an American BB and about what you would expect from a European BB.

Agree, still FO but CB coverage is not comparable to IBD. I'm guessing OP probably also doesn't work IBD hours, so pay should be commensurate with that.

In Asia BBs IB/S&T analysts get paid US$7k-8k/month excluding bonus, while Corp Banking analysts get anywhere from US$3k-6k/month.

Have friends at European BBs getting US$3k-US$4k as a first year Corp Banking analyst, while some at US BBs get US$5k-6k/month. If you're at a European BB doing corporate banking I'll say your pay is pretty in line with everywhere in the world excluding US
