Underpaid in front office
safe
keep lookin at the salary ranges and bonuses and what other man get paid in front office jobs..
i'm at a BB..London.. been workin 3 yrs 2 months... associate.. done CFA level 2.. earnin £43k a year.. pretty low aint it?
readin websites and stuff.. i see associate pay like 80k+, almost 130k sometime..
Front office doing what? Pay scale for an associate in MO and associate in FO are very different. Not sure if you were Implying you were in safekeeping but that’s not FO.
I'm an financial institutions banker
coverage job essentially to client base of insurance/banks/asset mgrs
i only do a subsection of this but still. should give you an idea of what i do..
Taking into account that BBs have a 50k base in London at A1 this cant be real if you are at FO. Completely impossible.
What French Hardo said. A1 base is widely known to be 50k GBP, even everyone here in the states knows that.
I highly doubt the poster could be in a front office role based on numbers he has been receiving as a base salary.
I think it's a bit misleading to state that you're Front Office and in a coverage team but not say what division you're in. Based on your salary you're clearly not in IBD at your BB, but more likely in Corporate/Commercial Banking - nothing wrong with this and they are still front office roles, but you have to include the division in your post to provide context for your salary.
So assuming you're in Corporate or Commercial Banking, your salary sounds about right. Probably on the low end for an American BB and about what you would expect from a European BB.
It’s most definitely corporate banking.
Agree, still FO but CB coverage is not comparable to IBD. I'm guessing OP probably also doesn't work IBD hours, so pay should be commensurate with that.
I think you are confusing US salaries with UK..
In Asia BBs IB/S&T analysts get paid US$7k-8k/month excluding bonus, while Corp Banking analysts get anywhere from US$3k-6k/month.
Have friends at European BBs getting US$3k-US$4k as a first year Corp Banking analyst, while some at US BBs get US$5k-6k/month. If you're at a European BB doing corporate banking I'll say your pay is pretty in line with everywhere in the world excluding US
Easy go screw your bosses wife odds are they’re not satisfying her
it sucks that your pay is that low - have you tried autoerotic asphyxiation?
