Understanding the role of a client support executive
In a hedge fund/investment management firm, what does a client support executive do?
I have a description here but I don't understand what it does.
"The client support executive is responsible for dealing with valuation, performance and other client statement enquiries in such a way as to provide a market-leading level of client service to xyz's external clients and consultants. Provide support in the drafting of client meeting materials such as presentations and client background forms."
I would be grateful if anyone could shed light on this role.
Sounds like an investor relations person, whose job it is to deal with those pesky clients and make sure they're happy.
Hi thanks for the answer. Does it involve any forms of modelling? What do they mean by valuation enquiries?
No, it doesn't sound like it's likely to involve modelling...
A valuation enquiry is precisely that: a client or its representative calling to find out the current value of their investment.
That's really helpful to know thanks.
What's a client background form ? And client statement enquiry?
Would you say that this role would be a great introduction into the hedge fund industry, would it provide a good overview of the whole business?
Dunno what these things might be, but I am sure you can make a reasonable guess yourself...
Any role can be a good introduction into the industry, assuming you do the right things. The role you describe may provide a good overview of the business, but it might not. It depends on the specific circumstances.
