what does it take to get an interview with a top 10-15 Consulting firm that are Not MBB?
Just out of curiosity, I know that you need a 3.7+ to even get an interview with MBB, but what about the others? like Deloitte or etc. Do they also just focus on GPA or is it a mix of everything that they look at?
Generally the same stuff - with lower GPA and standardized test score 'thresholds' as you move down in quality of firm.
The requirements at tier 2 management consulting firms (AT Kearney, Strategy&, Oliver Wyman, Deloitte S&O, Roland Berger) are basically the same as for M/B/B. For the following tiers the thresholds concerning GPA, internship experience and extracurriculars etc. are lower.
I had a 3.5 and i interviewed with McK, Bain, Deloitte, PwC, and Booz (Strategy&). The people from my university who got interviews at McK, Bain, & Deloitte were all the same, except Deloitte & Bain interviewed about 50% more people than McK. From my school, no one had offers from all 3. Only a couple people had offers from 2 firms. There were Deloitte offers that didn't get Bain or McK. There was a McK offer that didn't get Bain or Deloitte. There were Bain offers that didn't get Mck or Deloitte.
PwC interviewed many, many more people. S& didn't recruit at my school.
GPA isn't everything. Go for everything and boost your leadership and work experience. Network hard.
