When did open outcry start becoming obsolete?
Hey,
I tried googling the answer but couldn't find it. When did electronic trading overtake open outcry at exchanges such as the CME?
Obviously there isn't an exact date but was it around 2003?
Thanks.
In '02 I was a runner at the CME and the only pits with any action were S&P500 futures/options and Eurodollar. There were a few people still in other currencies (ie Peso) sitting around for most of the day.
