Where can I get a taste of Trading?

I'm headed back to school for an MBA this fall and am interested in learning more about careers in Sales and Trading. I currently have my investment portfolio, and do some of my own stock picking, but mainly its a long term portfolio - diversified, dollar cost averaged, heavy on index funds, etc...

How might one get some experience/pratice doing with the type of extremely active trading a trader performs? Obviously I can't just open an E-trade account and start buying and selling because the commissions would eat up all my money in no time flat. Any suggestions?
