Which division for deal origination and capital raising?

Everyone talks about IBD, but I'm having trouble finding the "official" division within a I-bank that focuses entirely on deal sourcing (for roll-ups, turnarounds, or strategic acquisitions) and capital raising (finding interested sponsors like PE funds, hedge funds, etc). So a career focused not only on the ability to critique the financial worthiness of an opportunity (due diligence), but also dependent upon the contacts you have and the relationships you build.

You should check topics about Equity / Debt Capital Markets & about Acquisition finance. But you won't find much info in here. The team that deals with investors to fill the book is the Syndication (Equity or Debt Syndication depending on what you are going to offer to investors). It's a team that works closely with the sales & equity research because they are the last ones between IBD and S&T, let's say they are on the Chinese Wall.
