Young professional transitioning from a nonprofit to a top MBA. How can break into IB?
Hello everyone,
Thanks for your help. I am a fairly young professional (below 26), with 2 years of consulting at a mid-tier, and almost a year at an economic development startup nonprofit. I want to pursue IB long-term as I completed an undergrad internship at a BB but I had to turn down the offer because of family reasons (I couldn't remain in NYC). How will recruiters look at my background (3 years of consulting and nonprofit work), and my decision to non pursue IB straight out of undergrad? I am particularly concerned about the nonprofit work, because it doesnt really relate to my long-term aspirations. I just wanted to spend a year contributing to a worthwhile mission in my community before I began my MBA.
I will be attending a top 15 MBA school starting in the Fall.
Thank you for your help.
