1 on 1 Interview
Please describe the interview / hiring process.
I applied to the internship through OCR. 10 individuals received interviews on campus in the first week of February. The interview was 30 minutes in length with a recruiter, and contained no technical questions. I first got asked to go through my resume and got asked questions like "why did I choose to go to this university", "why securities" and "why goldman sachs". I was also asked to provide an example of a struggle in my life and what I learned from it. Finally, I was asked to give my opinion about the direction of the markets in the upcoming year. Most of my resume was oriented towards longer-term investing and I wasn't able to answer "why securities" to the recruiter's satisfaction. I was chosen as a alternate for the superday but no spots opened up.
