Interview
Was introduced to a current 2nd year analyst there through a friend, and had maintained contact with him over the past year and a half. Leading up to my graduation in 1/2021, he pushed my resume through for an immediate opening they had been trying to fill for months. Received an email from another analyst early 12/2020 to interview the following week. The opening was strictly ECM, but could've landed in Healthcare or Tech+Mining depending on fit. Interview was held over Zoom. Questions were very straightforward. Walk me through your resume, why banking, why ECM, why healthcare, why HCW, why do healthcare companies issue equity, and one brainteaser. Interview was early 12/2020 and I have not heard back.
Interview Questions
Brainteaser asking how many windows are in NYC. The way I tackled the question introduced too many variables and unnecessary assumptions, and could have been answered much simpler.

Interview
Applied online via LinkedIn. Got an email to schedule first round of interviews with two analysts a week after submitting resume. Second round of interviews took place two weeks later, in which I was interviewed by a VP. Following week third round of interviews took place with a MD / Partner. Due to Covid, everything was conducted over zoom of course. Interviews were mostly questions on personality, healthcare sector (particularly biotech), equity capital markets landscape, and resume related.
Interview Questions
Nothing really too difficult for me as my current role previous of the interviews prepped me significantly on the questions asked. However, when asked about future of healthcare capital markets, it is always difficult to predict the future correctly. Also, how many windows in Manhattan (This question however is mostly used to see analytical skills)

I received a phone call ahead of the interview. I was asked some simple questions about my resume. During the interview, I was asked to walk-through my resume, value Microsoft and asked some questions on the state of the markets.
Interview Questions
I was asked to valuate Microsoft. It was difficult for me as I had not a great understanding of Microsoft as a company and its sources of income apart from their licensing and sales of its operating system, and X-Box. I asked if I could go online or look at their financial statements. My requests were denied, but my interviewer said to just walk through the steps I would take without the numbers.

One unexpected question I was asked was to explain Blockchain, most likely due to my past work experience including Blockchain. While this would be a tough question for a layman, I think he really just wanted to ensure that I wasn't just bs'ing my experience to including the buzzword.

Sent in my resume and was called in for an interview a few weeks after. The interview was one on one with a vice president and it lasted more than 30 minutes. During the interview, I was asked standard questions such as what's your story, and about a previous internship. I was also asked to valuate Microsoft.
Interview Questions
I was asked to valuate Microsoft, and specific questions regarding valuation methods such as precedent transactions and public company comparables. I was also asked to walk through the discounted cash flow analysis and was asked questions on terminal value and the discount rate to use. Valuating Microsoft was the hardest questions to answer because I was not even given any numbers to work with and I was expected to verbally and convincing valuate Microsoft. Beyond that the interview was not too stressful and rather manageable.
