Please describe the interview / hiring process.
1) Apply online.
This involved an online application form with 3 fit questions. (Why UBS/Example of Leadership/Problem Solving as a Team)
Shortly after this, Numerical & Logical test.

Originally applied for ER, got a phone call from HR saying the position had already been filled as I applied very late. They liked my fit questions (I talked a lot about how UBS had taken a big hit in the crisis but was being relatively responsible and clearly making a big effort to rebuild for a more sustainable future in the 'Why UBS' question.)
They asked if I would be interested in an assessment day for Compliance. Accepted assessment day after short chat with HR. Wouldn't class as a phone interview but more like a get to know you conversation.

2) Assessment Centre
Turned up late (Gave myself an hour and a half extra time to get to LDN and have lunch but train derailment messed that up, however emailed ahead and they were very accommodating.)
Note the interview was at UBS AM, not the IB in Canary Wharf, a really nice atmosphere, very up-market in central London. Met with HR person I spoke to on phone, very friendly.

Straight into room with other candidates. Had to do the numerical test again in the room with the other candidates.

After this, 2 on 1 interviews. Both interviewers very friendly, small talk at first I guess to calm nerves or whatever, followed this by basic compatibility questions: teamwork, leadership, disagree with a friend. dealing with adversity. As it was compliance no real technical Q's, I had done prior research about the software they use and dropped that in somehow, which they loved. Overall very positive interview, my slipping point (as confirmed by HR later) was a lack of a statistical background. They asked about it and I talked in general terms about some things covered in Engineering modules & A Level Maths.

End of assessment centre, spoke to HR, asked out of curiosity how my re-test results went after a short chat, he said he couldn't disclose my score, I pressed and he told me that I had done v.well on the retest, better then originally and gave a percentile range. (Nice to know as many places don't give the result you get out.)

Two weeks later I receive a phone call telling me I haven't got the job. Feedback wise he said I got v. positive feedback from interviewers, impressed by my knowledge & research into the software they use. They were looking for a candidate with a more statistics-based background and that was the deciding factor. This made sense I guess as I am a Chemical Engineer and the 3 guys I interviewed with were all Economists.
