Please describe the interview / hiring process.
I am a non-target student who networked very hard for almost all the BBs. UBS happened to be the one firm that I had the strongest contacts at. These contacts helped me get into the "UBS Explore" program, which is designed for Undergraduate Juniors who are interested in the firm. It basically pipelines you for a first round interview (as long as you stay in touch with the people you meet there. If not, it doesn't do much). This was the case for me. I befriended the head of IBD recruiting where I was able to meet with her in person shortly before UBS accelerated kicked off. She asked me if I wanted to have an accelerated interview, or do the regular process, and I said accelerated. The initial phone round took place on the first week of December, and consisted of two analysts in the firm asking me fit/technical questions for around 30 minutes. The technical questions were "check-the-box" ones, and was more focused on fit (described below). After this round I heard back within one week about the final round (Superday). I attended the Superday on the second week of December. All candidates sat together on the 45th floor and were placed into "Pods." I was in Pod #1. Each Pod consisted of different interviewers, each focusing on a different aspect (i.e. Behavioral, thought process, analytics etc.). There were a total of four 30 minute interviews on the Superday, and had one break for about fifteen minutes. After the Superday, I heard back within 4 to 5 days that I received an offer.
