AM starting salary in the UK?
I'm taking about taking a loan to do an MSc in Investment Management in the UK. I'm not familiar with the starting salary in the UK in the investment/asset management field. I'm looking at the London area as that's where my school is for networking. Can anyone give a ball park of what I'm looking at to see if taking a loan is worth it? I'll be going to a top 5 program in the UK according to the Financial Times and will be taking the CFA 1 exam to add to my qualifications if that counts for anything. I also speak English and Chinese fluently, along with conversational Italian.
Thank you in advance.
Anyone?
Probably about £40-45k mark
Lmao no way this is true -- that would be less than half what you make in IB (base + end of year bonus)
OP asked for salary, which doesn’t include bonus. I’m sure you’re aware of this and it was just a simple oversight on your part.
I believe that is approximately the starting salary for grad programs like blackrock, M&G etc.
Correct, base salary for grads is around 40k, some shops are 35k, others 45k. Bonus is below M&A or S&T in IB for many years
What does salary look like in years 2-4? I’m a first year AM analyst on £45k at a small firm
It's striking that the starting salary in UK is so low. Analysts in Canadian pension funds are earning CAD80-90k base + about 40% bonus.
£45k is 78k CAD
