Anyone ever live through an Acquisition?

It's the ten year anniversary of the financial crisis, and my firm may be about to go through one. The last time I did we were the golden child, meant to bring growth to a moribund company. This time it looks like it is going to be all about economies of scale. I've already heard a rumor about an entire hedge fund team quitting because of it, and it isn't even official yet.

Does anybody have any experience here? Looking at the numbers, despite better numbers and growth, my team may be fucked because of their asset base there.
