My applications for AM 2023 summer internships in London are still pending

Hi all,
I have applied in November for several Summer Internships in Asset Management in London.

However, I haven't heard back from most of the recruiters, such as Blackrock (submitted virtual cover letter), Goldman Sachs, HSBC (completed two online assigments), BNP (completed an attitudinal test), L&G (submitted a video interview), Barclays (Private Banking, completed an online assignment).

Consider that I am a final year BSc Finance Bocconi student from Italy (so they will have to sponsor me the visa) and i'll graduate in 2024 bc i will do a master.

Do you think that odds are in my favour, or should I better try to make other plans for next summer bc they are not considering any more my application?
Thanks!

Hi francescopapa01,

It is hard for me to know if you have a shot without knowing a little bit more about your situation.

I currently work in BlackRock asset management and interview experiences can vary, regardless of potential offers or not.

For example,  my interview process from beginning to end took 4+ months, with an offer extended at the end.

What type of role are you looking for and what is your background/resume look like?

Happy to provide more detailed helped if needed!

Hi,

I applied for blackrock but there was no luck.

My background is as follows - I am currently doing MSc finance at a reputable university in Europe. I have two internships in consulting and will start my third internship in February at a capital raising firm.

I have been trying to get into asset management. Even got calls from some firms but rejected due to language requirement (italian proficiency required).

At blackrock, I am interested in the following areas - alternatives investment and ETF & index investing.

Can i connect with you on linkedin?

Happy to connect.

I have to stay anonymous here for employment restrictions but would be happy to connect outside of here.

I am a mentor here at WSO with extensive experience in the asset management industry. I’ve also conducted interviews at BlackRock for years. I can provide tips in terms of 1 on 1 time, resume reviewing, or even interview prep.

You can check out my mentors profile and WSO can connect us offline to discuss more through bookings.
