Why AMs require the CFA?
Incoming junior for a LO AM's research associate role. One of the requirements for the role is for me to eventually get my CFA designation. I read on WSO that CFAs are only super useful for people who want to break into investing from a noninvesting role, and that as a junior in an investing role, I would gain the necessary experience and skills to convince firms I can invest. What are some reasons an AM would require the CFA?
Marketing; it looks good.
They’ll be looked down on less when they underperform them market
