Does firm like Mckinsey require a decent GMAT score in order to get a first -round interview??
I am a candidate of Oxford MFE. I had a GRE score of 330 /340. I saw many posts here saying firms such as GS and McKinsey have a cut-off gmat score of 760 and etc. Therefore I am thinking about taking the GMAT, since it is similar to GRE in many ways which should not take me too much time commitment. Do you guys think it is necessary to take the GMAT if only for the sake of job application?? If so, what would be considered a decent score for those prestigious firms??
330 /340? Does that mean you took it before the revised version that came out?
I took the revised version.
I've seen past threads about this with some good responses. It might be a good idea to do a search. But to answer your question, I don't think there's a hard cut-off and it's definitely not a 760. I'd say if you have over a 700 / 710 and can network you should be good to go.

not really, only for the GS
not worth it tho, just go with some other firm, you will do well
Dude you have to be kidding. They are all joking...you dont need a GMAT to apply anywhere (except b school, and the firm may like to see it after b school). There is no hard cutoff anywhere. Certainly not going to be asked about it or a first year analyst spot. Some firms won't even ask your SAT
While there does seem to be a soft GMAT cut-off point for some companies, there's absolutely no way that it's 760.
there is not GMAT cut off, at least not in banking, no clue about consulting. If you are unsecure about your score just dont put it on your CV simple as that, nobody is going to ask about it anyways (this is for the UK)
