Well I only ask because I'd heard that for engagements that are less than 2 hours away from your home base, that you're expected to "cover your own transportation".. Is that true or are we flown out regardless of where the client is?
chicago has decent PT but not like the NYC subway. i'm from the chicagoland area and i know lots of people in the city who don't have cars... but they're the ones who can walk to work and everything else they need. i also have friends who have a car in the city and drive everywhere, but parking is getting more expensive. i say take the job and decide later if a car is necessary.

No, you do not need to own a car if your planning to live downtown near the L, but I would recommend having one if its not to much of a burden.
BTW, If you just drive around the city you won't have to worry about DUIs
do you like cars? do you like driving?
i'm from chicago and you dont NEED a car, but once you get one you can't live without one
