WUSTL MSF to MBB

Undergrad from non target public school (i.e. UConn, UMass Amherst, Maryland, Penn State). Does WUSTL MSF helps for getting invitations for interview at MBB? Or do I need to wait 5 years for MBA?

I have the MBB consulting internship experience in Asia (non offered & open for non target school) and big 4 Deal Advisory internship experience

Based on the most helpful WSO content, the WUSTL MSF program can indeed be a stepping stone to opportunities at top-tier consulting firms like MBB. However, it's important to remember that these firms are highly competitive and your success will depend on a variety of factors, not just your educational background.

Your previous internship experience at MBB in Asia and Big 4 Deal Advisory will certainly be beneficial. It shows that you have relevant experience and have been exposed to the industry.

However, keep in mind that the MSF program and MBA program cater to different experience levels. MSF programs often compete with undergrads for roles, while MBAs apply for higher-level positions.

If you're considering an MBA, it's not necessarily a matter of waiting 5 years. It's more about gaining the necessary experience and skills to make the most of the MBA program and the opportunities it can provide.

Remember, every path is unique and what works for one person might not work for another. It's important to consider your own career goals, financial situation, and personal circumstances when making these decisions. Good luck!

MSF won’t be a target but as someone who went to a different WUSTL grad school, it doesn’t preclude you from getting interviews and you should be able to sneak into recruiting processes with undergrad recruiting especially if you have one of MBB on resume.  Still need to perform and MBB needs to be actually recruiting your year for FT.
