By 'company', do you mean, like, corporate merch that is provided to employees? Or just like good clothing brands that are often worn by those in finance?

If it's the former, can't really think of any. Maybe I'm an outlier, but I've never really seen anyone walking down the street wearing a GS vest or a BofA q-zip. Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough, but wasn't really anything that was noticeable. Unless it's SUPER subtle, you also wouldn't catch me wearing gear from my current stint or any shop I've worked at previously. I have plenty of corporate t-shirts, but those are usually for the gym or casual wear around the house.

If it's the latter option, I can testify that there are a lot of good brands out there - both from ownership experience and checking what other folks wear. If we just use the midtown uniform as a holistic example, you can find a ton of endless options. For vests, North Face, Rhone, Vuori, Peter Milar, Pata (obvi), and Uniqlo. If you're a little richer than I am, maybe something like Brunello Cucinelli or Loro Piana. Q-zips are largely the same, can find some good stuff. Maybe Arctryex or Canada Goose. Actually, I'm gonna scratch that and say CG is shitty clothing material - had a bad experience in which a certain somebody paid $750 for a jacket and that jacket did NOT last very long.

If the second paragraph has nothing to do with your question, then hey - at least I can shout out some of my favorite brands. If anyone has any recommendations and happens to have read this comment this far through, let me know if you can think of anything else.

I did see some cringe GS dudes at Sweetgreen in tribeca rocking vests which had the GS logo and then under it said "fixed income". Have seen multiple GS vests w division labels for things like GSAM or Equities. Not a fan. Only other firm I've seen anecdotally do this was Rothschild. Saw a dude at just salad under 30 rock wearing a vest which had the roth logo and under it said "Restructuring & Recapitalizations". This was back in 2016 and I never saw one after so don't come at me if you're triggered by it but it is what it is.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a GS vest, although I see a ton of GS gym bags every morning going up the escalators from WTC.  Honestly the Jane kids seem to get better stuff.  I've never seen a bit of their stuff that cuts corners.  Even the Christmas boxes are quality.  This isn't SocGen where they give you an obnoxiously large Eiffel tower made of 5lbs of mediocre milk chocolate.

EDIT: I thought GSAM was all in JC.  Who there would go to Tribeca for overpriced lunch when there are better options near Grove St?

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.

The company I work for was acquired and over a couple months they were offering a limited selection of branded merch and an allowance to buy stuff that went away at the end of the period. Some of the things on there were dual-branded with both companies logos and won't be offered again in the store. It's not the most prestigious thing, but I plan on being here for a long time and there's a sentimental value of just the "time and place" aspect that will be cool in the years to come.
