Summer materials?

Is 100% cotton the best material for summer time (both pants/shirts)? How does tropical wool compare? I've noticed most of my pants are wool, which isn't ideal for those hot days, so I want to pick up a couple pairs of something lighter.

Any recommendations? Might give some brooks brothers dress pants a try (2 for ~$200 at the BB outlet). Any input on their dress pants?

Depends what we're talking about here:

Seersucker is really good for the summer. Cool and light. Wool is always good for your suits, as it ought to not get too sweaty and hot if you're commuting and outside, etc. Though again, you can always go for a seersucker suit (not sure what the fashion sense on that one is, hahaha).

I love BB dress pants. For the summer, their chinos are pretty comfortable as well. Hope this helps a bit!
