Hedge fund trading assistant

Bumped an old post but it wasn't in the most appropriate forum to begin with, so reposting here:

Anyone have more color on the trading assistant/junior trader role at a macro HF? Curious about what others' experiences have been like.

I'm considering a move in the opposite direction from the OP (BB trading to trading assistant at macro fund). I think it's a great opportunity if you are confident enough in your own abilities and are willing to hustle to make the role work for you (which I am).

Are these TA jobs usually advertised or gotten through connections? What kind of experience is required?
