I've never heard of a hedge fund specializing in IPOs. That'd be one of the most retarded trading strategies I could imagine.

New issues nearly always have large HF involvement. Arbitrage and event driven funds are all over IPOs.

Anyway...strategy is: Buy chunk of IPO during bookbuilding. Sell when stock goes up.
