Point72 Accelerated Recruiting

Did anyone else get the invite to do accelerated recruiting for Point72's Academy program? I got it, did the Hirevue, got the second round. Responded to HR's email about scheduling a time for the second round on Friday, but still haven't heard back? They're doing second rounds all this week, next week, and the week after.

Point72 Recruiting

Undergraduate interns can expect a behavioral interview, a technical interview, and then a super-day.
Other threads also mention case study tests and Bloomberg tests.

In regards to modeling tests, user @Thislife" offered the following detail:

Thislife:
Short time-wise because it is largely a pre-built model with yellow rows for information you need to input.

Small revenue build and then typical three statement model. Basically do one calc or link for each row that needs it.

Know:
(1) DSO, DPO, DIO and cash conversion cycle
(2) Typical metrics such as ROA, ROE, ROIC
(3) EPS, Diluted EPS and how to calc. adjusted EPS

Some users commented on the reputation of the firm. However the "negative" reputation around the firm seems to be over inflated.

Boats and LBHoes - Hedge Fund Analyst:
As someone who works in the HF industry, it's not viewed any differently than other multi-managers. The idea that for some reason another fund won't touch someone from Point72 is ludicrous.

The timeline from initial call to offer can be anywhere from a few weeks to two months.

was rejected less than 24h after sending my app. best of luck everyone on the hirevue stuff, they look into everything really closely

This is not a firm you want to work for dude. Read up on the culture there, it's very cuttthroat, and the summer analyst conversion rate is like 50%. Plus the shop itself isn't particularly great anyway, and there are quite a few people in the industry who equate Point72 with insider trading. Moral BS aside, lateraling to other firms later on could get dicey since people want to stay away from this name.

Any word on this? I finished my HireVue on the 5th. HR's email said they're gonna get back with updates by 11th but I still haven't heard anything

Same here. The email did say "We will update you on your candidacy on or before July 11th" so I'm guessing we will be hearing back at some point today.

If anyone gets reply from HR today, please let us know~

Other posters in this thread have received rejection emails so I'd imagine Point72 will inform us regardless. The email with the hirevue invitation/wonderlic says "we will update you on your candidacy" as opposed to 'we will contact you if we are interested in pursuing your application further...' or something of that sort. To the point: it appears that they will let candidates know either way. Keep in mind, a poster above mentioned that they were rejected less than 24 hours after submitting their application so being updated on your status late isn't necessarily a bad sign.

That said, I have no special knowledge here this is just what I can gather from the email and what people have posted here.

BTW that Non-Disclosure Declaration makes the most serious Hirevue I ever done......

Just received their instructions about next round.

Got denied from Accelerated Recruiting but they wanted me to keep in touch for Normal Recruiting. For curiosity's sake, what was the process after the Hirevue? Straight to superday or a phone interview first?

They sent me a case study on an internet company last week. Basically build on model upon it and write several pages response about target co's biz model. Since the target co is subscriber based, the modeling is not that hard. Deadline is next Tuesday and we will get a response from HR on 8/1 or 8/2.

Not sure about the superday...

Is that for full time?

If you don't get an offer here, count your lucky stars. This place was the definition of a revolving door, and many well known funds I know will not touch people there with a 10 foot pole. The only reason to join is if you are relatively senior and have the opportunity to run your own pod and make a lot of cash. However, as a junior analyst, you will not be compensated enough to take on that kind of downside. If you ask me, this is bad risk/reward.

Also wondering the same. Seems like the firm is still really prestigious from the outside, but I'm not an insider of Wall Street so I don't know what others in the industry think about this firm.
