Don’t want to start it because I haven’t had my bonus convo yet but curious to hear where the street is at

Career Resources
get ours in February. 80% of base for me.
$150k base, $250k bonus, 1.5 year exp of HF experience after 2 + 2 profile. P disappointed especially given fund had a good year.
i agree, feels light. is this a small fund? and/or returns weren't that high?
Returns were great, both absolute and relative. The AUM & fees per IP are exceptional. The issue is the PM is totally out of touch with what market comp is. The reputation that I had heard was that he was stingy upfront, generous in the long run, which somewhat makes sense given the fund model of 1+ year holds means my value add relative to the analysts with 5+ years experience was significantly less. It's frustrating because I essentially have to bet on the long term existence of this fund when I have very little influence over that.
500k base + 1mm bonus after 2 + ~4
Strategy?
Great base alone
Also not paid out yet/year isn't over :), but I had a great year. Big 4 podshop, 5 YOE (3 years of banking + PE before that), senior analyst with carve. Should be $3 - 3.5mm
Congratulations! You're killing it
Can u share approximately what percent of ur pnl u get?
I'm first year analyst at a big 4 and I don't know when will I have this conversation. Bonus is full discretionary. PNL are closed the last day of the year.
Is it the kind of topic we adress after new year?
Also curious. Also how much negotiation is there if at all?
Based on my experience, there is little to no negotiation. Managers put a lot of thought into arriving at YE comp and are pretty firm on the number they give. But not sure if others' experiences vary.
Relatively senior, not a good year, have equity that shares in overall fees to helps create a floor on comp, for reference including 2022
2022: $5mm
2023: $700k
Holy cow. i could not handle that comp volatility lol
You learn to manage when it works out to an avg. of $2.85mm/year ...
