2022 Bonus/Salary Expectations

I was checking out some of the data that Litquidity threw out on this link: https://www.efinancialcareers.com/news/2022/02/go…

How similar will comp be to this past year? Will groups like CS post higher bonuses if they're able to avoid some of the issues they faced last year?

About to start recruiting processes for a few different groups and want to know how much I'll be missing out on depending where I place. Centerview's numbers are absolutely mind boggling.

You should probably take the relative pay distribution in that article and apply it to your expectations. For example, you should not hope that CS is gonna “turn things around” and start to be on par with other higher banks. It’s well-known which banks pay more and which are cheaper, and I wouldn’t expect a change unless there’s a concrete action to prove you otherwise.

I would also expect all bonuses to come downward a bit from last year, although still definitely higher than they were before this whole GS13 thing started.

Time will tell but I doubt it. They’ve historically paid less (GS discount) and it seems like this is a temporary measure to stem worker churn during a tight labor market. In next couple years I’d expect them to pay street again as labor market comes back into balance and markets cool off. That said, I don’t work there; this is just outside-in conjecture so take with a grain of salt.
