BB hiring

Guys.
Some advice needed please....
I have had an 'offer' from a bulge bracket bank in London for an offcycle internship - with the view to have me join FT when the grad scheme opens early next yr....
The issue is as follows: My 'offer' is from the team i.e. they want to hire me.. but now it's over to HR to approve the hire.
Been a while so far... what do you guys think? Is this a go or no go...... Under 'normal' mkt circumstances, I would have just assumed an offer from the team in that way was all that was required and the rest was admin.... but i think in this market headcount/ allocations etc. are obviously more closely guarded and am uncertain about what my position is.

Thanks a lot.

Sounds like you have your head screwed on straight and are asking some good questions. First of all, if you have no other offers I would definitely take it. Even if HR pulls the rug out from under you, at least you have a plumb internship under your belt.

Not totally sure how it works in the UK, but in the US the groups are usually able to manhandle HR most of the time. If the bankers go to bat for you, you should be good.

I had a similar experience, with an offer from a specific group, and some HR shenanigans. PM me if you haven't figured it out yet.
