Citadel fundamental trading info
Hi, current junior at a west coast target who has accepted an ok eb sa offer in a west coast tech group. recently, citadel securities posted an application for a fundamental trading position which I applied to on a whim, and they responded asking for potential interview times.
Wasn't too serious about it but does anyone have any thoughts? Which would have higher salary/prestige? Better exit opps? Please let me know
Depends on what you want to do with your career after undergrad. Only one way to find out about the citadel role, go interview with them and see what it's all about. Who knows, might be your calling. Having Citadel on your resume will open up some doors, no doubt about it.
Ah, the classic dilemma of choosing between offers! It's like choosing between bananas and apples, both have their own flavor.
Based on the most helpful WSO content, both options have their own merits. The EB SA offer in a west coast tech group could provide you with a solid foundation in the tech industry, which is booming right now. It could also offer you a more traditional career path with potential exit opportunities into private equity or venture capital.
On the other hand, a fundamental trading position at Citadel Securities could be quite exciting and potentially more lucrative in the short term. Citadel is a well-respected firm in the trading world, and the experience could provide you with a unique skill set. However, keep in mind that trading roles can be quite intense and the exit opportunities might be more limited compared to investment banking.
In terms of prestige, both are prestigious in their own right. It really depends on what you value more and where you see your career heading.
Remember, it's not just about the prestige or the salary, but also about where you think you'll learn the most and where you'll enjoy your work. After all, you don't want to be stuck in a job you don't like, no matter how prestigious or well-paying it is.
So, take a moment, maybe grab a banana (or an apple), and think about what you really want. Good luck!
