Evercore "Advisory Research Analyst"?

Fellow monkeys,

I came across the job posting listed above whose job function is to "provide business research and operations support to Evercore’s Advisory and Restructuring COO." and offers the opportunity to lateral to the investment banking analyst program after 12 months. I have experience working as a research analyst at a consulting firm and thought this might be a good way to get my foot in the door with a well known firm.

I was wondering if anyone is familiar with this role within Evercore or other banks, mainly what the day-to-day responsibilities and comp look like. Any insight at all would be helpful.

Thanks

It's just the "opportunity to apply to the Evercore Investment Banking Analyst program after 12 months." Basically a chance to be interviewed by the advisory team, in I'm guessing a Superday-style format. Not like JPM's junior analyst program or GS's SLC program where there's a clear path to promotion to a standard analyst based on performance.

If you really want to know - because that posting is admittedly vague - you should reach out and email the US Head of Lateral Recruiting at Evercore, which is her LinkedIn title. Let me know what she says about advancement. I'm curious to know what she tells you. I've had my resume passed by someone at Evercore and these HR people a generally fine with intro calls with candidates.

Pay will be lower; definitely not the 95k base/ ~100k bonus of Advisory 1st years. In the WSO database there's a salary post for a 2018 Research Analyst of 80k base with no bonus reported. It's probably going to be in that ballpark.
