Feel like I am not learning anything

Started back in August at a balance sheet bank. Overall the deal flow is super low. Literally had 2 months where I was working hard but other than that my wlb had been great compared to people at other banks. Only problem is I don't think I have learned anything at all. I have barely done any modeling what's so ever and have yet learn about  processes from start to finish. All I've been doing is working on ppt, word docs and updating comps along with Ad hoc work. Has anyone been feeling/experiencing the same? Is it a good idea to lateral asap?

Same exact boat here. Wow almost eerie reading this lmao. Can't be upset though really I'm straight chilling and having a blast tbh. Think you may be overthinking this and all that matters in the end is that we were in IB especially if not intending to do PE (which I sure as hell am not). But maybe I'm naive if someone else can chime in here. Wonder if we are at the same bank...

Don't do it, everyone I know who has felt guilty/behind and lateraled to a bigger bank has regretted it - they make the same amount to work 2x as much and get mentally crushed. You are definitely learning even if you don't think you are, you're collecting big checks, and you have a name brand. Thank whatever god you believe it and let it ride.

You might lose out on a few PE opportunities, but imo the tradeoff of having a bearable 2 years / heading to corp dev or MM PE is way better than getting crushed at a bigger bank. Don't lateral just because you feel guilty.
